The Khutba (Sermon) is an essential part of Friday Service. It is to be delivered in two parts with a short pause in between. The fundmental elemnts of a Khutba are:
a. To begin with the praise of Allah.
b. Then to say Shahadah (Words of witness).
c. To mention in the first Khutba, which is usually longer than the second one, any word of dhikr and worshippers are to be addressed with an exhortation to keep obedience and duty to Allah.
d. To recite in Arabic, some Quranic verses, in connection with an obligation, prohibition, wisdom, or reminder of a religious duty, with a translation of the meaning.
e. To conclude both Khutbas with supplications and prayer for Allah's mercy, forgiveness, and guidance.
